Message have a lot more problems than their earlier counterparts. I've looked at a few of the earlier 90's models and see many floating around with 200,000+ miles on the clock. However, I don't know whether this is based in fact or not.

Currently I am browsing an online community called "Bimmerforums" to see if I can get more insight from individual experiences there - trying to find the problematic cars, and subsequently the better ones. So far I have concluded that their automatic transmissions are simply riddled with problems, and to stay very far away! Apparently some of their bullet-proof engines weren't so tough as time has tested either...ugh, I really don't want to buy a damn honda.
